Check Out Mercury Fountain

Located in Fountain Square, Mercury Fountain is the focal point of Reston Town Center. This beautiful fountain was designed by Brazilian sculptor Saint Clair Cemin. The ancient Roman messenger for the gods Mercury flies 20 feet above the ground as water flows from glossy trumpets. People find inviting spots for sitting, conversing, and even having an impromptu picnic lunch in this elegantly landscaped site. Fountain Square is just across from the Pavilion, where many special events take place, so it’s a great spot for meeting up with friends.

Shopping for Everyone

Fancy a new iPhone? In desperate need of an outfit for your yoga class? Or maybe you want to get a wedding shower gift for a friend. Reston Town Center is home to dozens of tony boutiques and name brand stores. These include the Apple Store, LouLou, Pottery Barn, and Anthropologie. You’ll also find banks and financial institutions, day spas, and stationery supplies. Since the Town Center is a mixed-use area for locals and visitors, it’s commercial offerings include the practical along with the fanciful.

  • When was Reston Town Center built?

Building began in 1988, and the first phase opened to the public two years later. It won almost two-dozen awards for urban design, construction, and quality. This first part included a hotel, a movie theater, shops, restaurants, and two office buildings. The second phase has been developed over time and includes office buildings and parking garages. The third phase consisted of residential apartment buildings, completed in 2006.
  • What types of events take place here?

There are many fun things to do at Reston Town Center all year long, whether it’s a 5K run, Oktoberfest, or winter ice-skating. During the summer, children can take part in the Kids Free Movie Series at Bow Tie Cinemas. The Friday Night Live Concerts series at M&S Grill is a great place to get out and socialize.
